Tips for Students!

Tips for Students:

After meeting with a lot of you individually, many of you expressed to me that you are struggling with finding ways to stay organized as we face this digital-learning world. I have spoken with one of our school guidance counselors Ms. Lee and we have found a couple of good videos for you to watch that may be of some help.

NOTE: This is not an assignment and you do not have to watch these unless you want to or need better organization!

Tips for Online Learning

  • Plan Ahead, but Be Flexible
  • Without a clear daily schedule, it's easier to put off tasks you would rather not do.
  • Draw up a plan or schedule for each day. Post it in your learning area.
  • Set alarms on your smartphone or computer to go off when it's time to switch classes, take breaks, or turn in work.
  • Make sure you allow time for breaks. Your brain needs a break.
  • Get some sleep. Lack of sleep makes your brain a little loopy.
  • Turn off Distractions like the tv and your phone!! No watching videos, while class is going on.
  • Walk around and get a little exercise in between classes.
  • Email your teachers when you have a question or don’t understand something from class. You can also use the private chat while in class to ask a question.
  • Manage your time, between classes, homework, tv, friend, and mealtime.
  • Start small, one extra assignment a day is better than nothing. Even if you do half an assignment, make sure to pass it in. 50 points are better than 0 points.
  • Get a notebook/folder for each core class. Keep your subjects separate so the work is easier to find.
  • Take notes in class/pay attention!
  • Use Khan Academy for math. It’s on YouTube and you can type in any subject.
  • Use a planner to write down all assignments that are due/special projects, etc.
  • Believe that you are awesome and can achieve your goal.
  • Set small goals each day and work on them, like a to-do list. If you don’t get it all done, that’s okay. Eventually, you will. Baby steps!
