Welcome to Ms. Hubbard's 8th Grade Social Studies class! I look forward to working with each of you as we explore the history of America together starting from Colonization to- Present.

Communication

  • Office Hours: My office hours are from 8:00- 9:00
  • Getting Help: Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. My email is jennifer_hubbard@abss.k12.nc.us. I check my email throughout school hours. I am also available to set up zoom calls together if needed. Any emails or messages received after hours will be responded to as soon as possible.

Expectations

  • Ms. Hubbard's Zoom Classroom Expectations
  • Material Access: We will be using Canvas this year as the primary learning platform. Zoom will be where we meet for video conferences. If you are not sure how to use Canvas well yet, please refer to the Student Guide posted below under the section "Quick Links". 
  • Organizational Method: The year's curriculum will be set up in Modules, and we will progress through each module. Lesson content and assignments will be posted within each module. 
  • Grading: All student work will be evaluated and graded based on the traditional letter-grade scale.  Please note that we will no longer be following the WC-19 grading as applied during the spring of 2020.
