Early colonies begin to form in America in the 1600s. The process of establishing these colonies was not always smooth, as factors such as climate, conflict with Native Americans, and infighting created "growing pains" for the colonies. This slideshow will also look at how the Protestant Reformation which began in 1517 influenced early America.
