If you plan to paint from a photograph, or a variety of other methods, you may want to check out the two links below. These show you how I set up an acrylic painting using the same materials available to you. I usually paint in two stages. In the first stage, I "block everything in." I paint quickly, trying to match correct colors and values, but I stay away from detail. In my second layer of paint, I make changes to any colors that need altering, and I start to focus on the details. Watching my process may help you to develop your own process. *Important to note* In this video, I am copying a painting by Edgar Degas. This is perfectly fine to do for a My Choice project- it is an excellent way to learn. However, I want you to create an original composition for your final piece.
