8.H.2.1 - Explain the impact of economic, political, social, and military conflicts on the development of North Carolina and the United States.

There were many issues when the war first started, but none was more dangerous than not knowing who was your ally and who was the enemy. There was no standard uniform at the start of the war... This caused disaster for some units in the smoke of battle. Flags too were a problem and we shall see why.
