WWI Project introduction

3/17/21 Today I will introduce the Project, the only thing you need to do is tell me in text box which project you would like to do. Then you may use the remainder of the class time to finish Imperialism assignments (GildedProgressive test / Vocab unit 6/HawaiiImp Notes / AmericanPower) lock out 3/19.

For this Assignment Students can pick from three options, but All Projects must complete the written Reflection:

• WWI : The GAS MASK Links to an external site. Project - Create a gas mask out of everyday household materials * submit creation by uploading picture of gas mask.
  • I have also included DIY Helmets you can make to go with your Gas Mask. Possible Bonus points to do the helmet too.
  • Tell Me German or British/American if you pick this one

• Propaganda  Links to an external site.Poster Project  Links to an external site. - creation of your very own Propaganda Poster can be done using Canva or on poster board Links to an external site.* submit creation by uploading picture of posterboard or screenshot of Canva

• Research Paper - Topics include : WWI technology, Post WWI literature, Trench Art, Psychological trauma and treatment  Any aspect of WWI (approved by teacher)

Creation: 50 points      Reflection: 50 points

Reflection Questions:

1. What did you create? Why did you choose this project?

2. Explain the concept and importance of the artifact you created? Why was this so important to WWI?

3. What significant and relevant info did you need to complete your project?

4. What was one challenge you faced in this project? How did you overcome that challenge?

5. Is it an accurate representation of WWI history? Why or Why not?

Project is Due 3/29/21 It will go on the 4th quarter Grade.
