At the beginning of war the British Parliament offered any enslaved blacks the opportunity the join the Royal Army and would earn their freedom at the war's conclusion.
Imagine you were given the choice: remain an American slave and hope for freedom or escape and join the Royal Army to fight against the rebellion. Discuss the pros and cons for your choice and think of reasons why many slaves chose to remain with the Patriots.
